As a leading wireless infrastructure provider, Broadbeam Corporation (formerly called Nettech Systems, Inc.) helps enterprise customers, software vendors and system integrators develop, deploy and manage their wireless applications by offering a wireless development platform and managed services that give business a competitive edge. PInG has been working with Broadbeam since 1997, and has designed and implemented several iterations of their on-line presence, each version growing in sophistication and functionality as Broadbeam's needs and capabilities have grown.

Challenge

Broadbeam was changing its corporate identification and required its on-line image and presence to keep pace with the company's new look and competitive edge. Broadbeam had three goals for their new Web site: to promote itself in the high-tech wireless market, to serve its partners and customers, and ease of maintenance.

Solutions

PInG worked with Broadbeam to identify short and longer-term strategic communications and functionality needs and requirements, and then recommended a phased approach to the Web site redesign in order to meet Broadbeam's project objectives. A key feature of the redesign was the development of a unique hybrid of Flash technology and HTML, resulting in a cutting-edge image, interface and graphics for the Web site.
Additionally, a broadband multimedia Flash presentation was developed for use at trade shows and was used to create a lower bandwidth version also featured on-line. PInG also implemented a Content Management System so non-technical Broadbeam staff could easily maintain the site's content. We also provided a secure customer area for authorized developers, integrators and vendors and a subscription feature to an electronic newsletter made available through the site.

Results

The redesigned Web site is lively, interactive, and engaging, has helped Broadbeam in fortifying its presence in the wireless industry, and serves as the company's primary marketing tool. Additionally, the Broadbeam Web site was awarded the 2000 BIZI Award for High Tech Web site by Business News New Jersey. Most importantly, the site has been very well received by Broadbeam's customers and partners, and has served to strengthen Broadbeam's relationship and service offering with those constituencies.
